Have you got a camera? Want a better camera and lenses? want to afford Pro gear? want to make money and travel with your photography?
There is a good avenue in sports photography. There are opportunities for travel, great people to meet, new gear to buy and pay for and lots of reward. However its hard to break into. You need the right gear before you start, and you need to know how to consistently shoot the photos you are paid to produce.
If you think you have what it takes then I am running personalised workshops for individuals to learn how to shoot sports photography.
Details
Each workshop is a personalised 3 hour jam packed session of technical skills, real activity shooting sports models and post production critique.
Following up from the workshop is the opportunity to be an unpaid shooter at an event to see how you would go in the real world.
We will help you learn the techniques and skills, critique your work and provide constant performance feedback as you go.
Benefits
You will learn:
- how to pick the right camera settings for the day, event, lighting, action etc, and when and how to change them and why
- how to critique your own shots using the inbuilt camera functions
- how to review your shots in post production and critique
- how uncomfortable it can be lying on the ground in ants nests, mud and sharp gravel with mosquitos around in the hot sun (or freezing rain)
- how much fun you can have doing this
- how much money you can realistically make
Equipment
You will need to bring:
- A DSLR – preferably Canon 50D or above, or Nikon D7000 or above. It will need to have a servo tracking Autofocus capability.
- A good sports lens – preferably a 70-200mm telephoto lens (note these can be hired)
- A yoga mat or similar for lying on
- Notepad or similar for taking notes
- Suncream, water, insect repellent supplied by us
Cost
The cost for the workshop is $450. Dates and times are arranged individually and are dependant on yours and our availability, availability of our models and the weather to some extent.

This year Dreamsport Photography will be officially photographing the TRAQ Glasshouse trail runs starting with the Hare and Hounds event based in Woodford on 9th January.
We will be providing finish line photos to all entrants. There will also be other limited photos available from in the field. these will be available in a gallery on this site and priced as follows:
- one photo $10
- two photos $18
- three photos $25
- up to 10 photos $30

Dreamsport Photography is proud to be announced as the official photographer for the 2010 Skirt Chaser 5K fun run. We will have two photographers on course and a sales table where you can get access to a special deal - all photo requests that contain the code provided on the day can get 1 extra photo for the same price.
All the photos from the 2010 Skirt Chaser 5K fun run will be uploaded to the image gallery.

Geoff's Runs are hosting their annual Bribie Beach Bash and once again supporting the worthy Endeavour foundation.
Dreamsport Photography has been asked to be the photographers for this event, and we will have two photographers at the event shooting competitors on the beach as well as start and finish lines and candid shots.
We will be making available sales of photos from last years event (previously not seen by most competitors) as well as this years and we have some special offers below. We will also be making a donation to the Endeavour Foundation from the proceeds of photo sales.
The deal for this year:
- A CD will be made available with a selection of shots of the whole event. This will contain around a hundred photos able to be displayed on a computer or printed in 6x4 format. Cost $10 per CD. 2010 Bribie Beach Bash CD
Bonus offer for last year:
We will have a laptop displaying pictures from last year. If you can locate the pictures you want and get a business card with a promo code on it from one of our staff we will provide up to 10 pics on your 2010 CD for an additional $5.
